Battle Of The Bands Held In Twin Falls

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Ten bands, one grand prize, and the title of the Twin Falls Battle of the Bands.

That's what was happening at the Twin Falls City Park Friday afternoon.

This is the third time the battle has taken place.

First was in 2005 and then again in 2010.

The event featured ten local bands displaying their talents.

Each band preformed a 20 minute set.

As for the judging, it came down to half from the five judges and the other half was viewer choice.

For the type of music being played, there was a little mix of everything.

"It's very diversified... so we’re talking hard core to metal, but then to funk to rap to indie to folk music... like everything, we've got it. Except for country; we tried to find a country band and we couldn't find one," explains Josh Jensen, Battle of the Bands Director.

The winner of Friday’s battle took home a grand prize of one thousand dollars.

Event organizers say they want to make this a yearly event for the city of Twin Falls.

And with the amount of support they received tonight, you can start planning on next year’s Twin Falls Battle of the Bands.
