Bee Day Is Celebrated At Tubbs Berry Farms in Twin Falls
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Saturday bee keepers in Southern Idaho celebrated 'Bee Day' at Tubbs Berry Farm in Twin Falls.
Orders were made in advance and Saturday the keepers claimed their 'box of bees.'
Each box contains roughly 10,000 bees and on-hand were approximately 151,000 bees.
Bee Day is only once-a-year but Tubbs offers classes throughout the summer to help people learn how to tend their bees.
World-wide bees are under threat from serious pests so their goal is to teach how to manage them properly.
Very few things we consume do not require in some form or another, the help of bees.
Being a bee keeper just takes time and observing the bees and learning how to take care of them.
All over the world bees have a bad rap for frightening people.
Kirk Tubbs reminds us if a bee stings you, it dies so most bees aren't inclined to do it.
