Body Found Near Jackpot

Elko County, Nevada ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Elko County Sheriff's Office is trying to solve a murder.

Undersheriff Clair Morris says the body of a Hispanic man was found around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, three miles southwest of Jackpot, about a half mile off the highway.

The man had been shot several times with a small caliber weapon.

A rock counter found the body wrapped in a sheet and secured with duct tape.

The man, believed to be in his early twenties, was killed elsewhere and dumped there within twenty-four hours of his death.

He was 5’7” tall and weighed about 158 pounds.

He was wearing light gray sweatpants, a short sleeve blue striped shirt and a blue hoodie.

It's believed he may be from our area.

No identification was found on him.
