Magic Valley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) It's been three years since Hailey native Bowe Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban.

Bring Bowe home! That message is clear and displayed on posters throughout southern Idaho.

Bowe's father, who's usually not in the public light that often, came down to speak with area veterans at Lithia motors in Twin Falls.

Friday marked the National P.O.W., M.I.A. Awareness Day and Bowe's parents Bob and Jani felt it was very fitting to specifically have a Bowe Bergdahl day.

James Strunk, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association says, "for the POWS, there's so many still missing. We want them home. Bowe Bergdahl, in Afghanistan, still missing. We want everybody to remember these people."

And over in Rupert, the community came out to support the veterans, Missing in Action and Prisoners of War.

Fire departments, veterans groups and EMS all came out to the Rupert Historic Square.

"Our biggest thing is we just want to show appreciation and that we're here no matter what to help the vets, the soldiers, MIA, POW and it personally hits us really hard," adds Vincent Gauthier, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.

The fifth annual event also recognizes the events of 911.
