Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Kids from the Boys and Girls Club discovered the importance of water and what it means to this area.

The Water Envrionment Federation started the program and some employees from Ch2M Hill helped facilitate it to the kids on Wednesday.

Even a bird looked on as the kids took over Centennial Park.

They conducted tests on turbidity, ph levels, the water temperature as well as dissolved oxygen levels.

Officials say one of the favorite aspects of the project is when kids use tablets to change the water temperature.

"They're wanting to add more tablets that you need to see what colors and get them going. But I think as we talk to them and tell them hey, this is what this means and if this number is not really good that means fish could be dying, you just get some great responses back from the kids," says Shawn Moffitt, Project Manager, CH2M Hill.

Moffitt says they usually do this project annually with the Boys and Girls Club.

But there are occasions when they visit the schools.
