Bring Bowe Home Rally Held In Twin Falls

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl has been held captive for more than four years.

"It's a perfect cause. Bowe Bergdahl has been held captive since 2009 and this is our second annual event to raise money for the fund and it's for the veterans as well," said Cory Kracke, General Manager of the Lithia Dodge Chrysler Jeep Dealership.

Bring Bowe home. That was the message on Saturday at the event held by the twin falls VFW. The organization is hoping to get the word out in order to help bring Bowe Bergdahl home.

"A lot of people don't even know who Bowe Bergdahl is. He is the only Prisoner of War that we have in the United States and he is a member of our VFW and we are out to make people aware of this," said Steve Gilbert with the Twin Falls VFW.

The Hailey native was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Four years later the message across Southern Idaho is still clear.

"It's time for us to bring Bowe home and we're trying to gather the people up and let them know we've got to get involved because this could be our son, our dad, our daughter. We really need everyone's help to help bring Bowe home once and for all," said Bob Jackson with the Twin Falls VFW.

But spreading awareness wasn't their only goal.

"We're actually doing a fundraiser for the Bowe Bergdahl family. As people may be aware, Bowe has been a prisoner for over four years. And it's quite an expense to the family because as they get out and try to work to get their son home, what we're out here doing today is trying to raise funds to help cover those travel expenses,” said Jackson.
