Bronze Sculpture Will Recognize Sheepherding In Hagerman
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A second generation sheepherder in Hagerman has commissioned a brand new bronze sculpture.
86 year old Bill Jones has teamed up with the Hagerman Valley Historical Society's Museum. Together they recruited local sculptor Danny Edwards of Twin Falls to do the work. The clay models have been completed, and workers from a foundry in Lander, Wyoming are coming next week to make the molds. Edwards says, "The whole project will consist of 8 sheep, the sheepherder's dog, the sheepherder himself, and then the horse and saddle, which he will be leading. So it'll stretch out over about 45 feet, I think at this point." Edwards says the sculpture will be cast in Wyoming, and then could be installed as soon as the end of November. He says the eleven piece sculpture will be put up near the north end of Hagerman across the street from the LDS church. Sept. 28, 2012. Comments ( |
