Tonight marked the annual Buck and Bulls banquet.
The sold out event featured an estimated 300 people.
But this year it's more than just food and entertainment.
A group of hunters surprised Wesley Kegal, who has leukemia, with a father– son hunting trip.
A local firefighter is planning on surprising the boy by climbing a high rise staircase in full fireman gear in Seattle this upcoming March.
Jeff Frost, the coordinator of the banquet, explains why Devan Slaygal wants to help.
Says Frost, "they are running in honor of one child every year but Devan wanted to take a local child and carry that with him up there, but also run for a local child from the Magic Valley and that's what he's doing with Wesley this year."
Last year the fire department was able to raise 1.4 million dollars worth of donations. This year, their goal is 1.7 million.
