Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Governor Otter appoints a Buhl woman as Fish and Game Commissioner for the Magic Valley Region.

Joan Hurlock will be based out of the Jerome office and represents the constituents of the Magic Valley.

She says she'll be responsible for setting seasons and limits for wildlife.

Hurlock moved to Idaho from the D.C. area where she worked as a police officer with Capitol Police.

Prior to that, she worked for the ATF.

Now she owns a business in Buhl, is on the Xavier School Board, among other projects.

"I spent a lot of time preparing for this. I have quite an extensive background in Fish and Game. My father was a Fish and Game officer," adds Hurlock.

She is taking over for Wayne Wright who served the maximum, two terms.

The position begins July first.
