Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - The framing is done, the concrete is poured and now we're moving on to the windows.
Every week we follow along with a behind–the–scenes look at a new home being built in Twin Falls.
Michelle Bartlome shows us this week's addition to our "Made in America" home.
“We always use Milgard windows. We have been using them for the last few years. We checked out other companies. Milgard fit what we’re looking for. The windows we use are top of the line vinyl windows. It has more low-e than most contractor grade windows so they are more efficient. The glass in these windows is twice as thick,” said Lance LeBaron, Lance LeBaron Homes.
“I believe there are 31 windows in the house. That’s quite a few. Typically, most houses, lance likes to put a lot of windows in. it’s good. It gives a lot of light and an open feel. It goes with the house that house a lot of high pitched roofs. It looks really nice. We start with the flashing wrap for the window to seal it up. We install the window and seal it to the structure and then put flashing around the top so it’s water tight. Then, we have installators come and install behind the windows. We buy the windows from Milgard. They are a 100% American company and they manufacture everything,” said Nate Steen, Twin Falls Glass.
