Burley Teacher Uses An App To Grade Exams

Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The task of grading exams is a lot less tedious for one local teacher.

Many students are anxious to find out their grade on a quiz or test prior to leaving class for the day.

Well Burley High School science teacher Terence Smith uses his i–pad to scan a test and get immediate results.

Through the app, Grade Cam, a teacher can scan a bubble sheet to get the student's score, even do item analysis and post an average.

The app is also a time–saver.

"I would have to walk down to the faculty lounge to do my scantrons, and also for like pre–tests, sometimes the results aren't as quickly as you would like them to be. So the students know their feedback exactly as far as what they need to have and what they need to learn," explains Smith.

He has been able to use the app for free due to the amount of teachers signing up for the service. However, he does says it's pretty inexpensive.

School officials say they're committed to utilizing the app next year.
