Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Today is one of the busiest travel days of the year.
As many are beginning to prepare their turkey, a third of Americans are also preparing to travel.
If you're flying, driving, or taking a train this holiday week, you're joining millions of Americans in the holiday rush.
"All of the flights are very full through this holiday period and this weekend which is great, it's great to see people coming home especially to see family and use the airport” said Bill Carberry Manger, Magic Valley Regional Airport.
The Twin Falls Regional Airport has a high rate of connecting flights during the holiday season and see's an increase of commuters.
"Normally most flights are pretty full at the airport throughout the year, there are some periods were it slows down. From now through Monday or Tuesday we'll see a lot of folks using the airport” said Bill Carberry Manger, Magic Valley Regional Airport.
Officials suggest travelers have their boarding pass and identification ready when approaching the security checkpoint.
Carberry said, "Arrive early try to be careful with the liquid bans that people sometimes forget about on their carry-on. Also if you're going to bring presents for the holidays don't wrap them because the T.S.A. will need to inspect those.”
The top five travel destinations for travelers this holiday week are New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Philadelphia.
Delays Americans hope they don't run into while traveling to their destination.
AAA believes more than two hundred thousand Idahoans are expected to drive to their holiday destination.
