Businesses Dealing With Rain Damage

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A week after last week’s storm, some local businesses are still recovering from the flood waters.

On Wednesday morning, the workers at D&B Supply woke up to a big surprise in their Twin Falls location.

When the morning manager arrived, there was over a foot of water... in just the parking lot alone.

Once the doors were opened, the entire floor of the store was covered in rain water.

That's the point in which they knew they would be closed for the day.

So what kind of impact did this have on their business?

"Obviously for us to close for the day is a huge loss of business when we could have been open selling pumps... a lot of stuff to help people out. Obviously some other business benefited from being open. Seeing what was coming through the media, with the flooding and the dodge dealership... I think we lucked out, other than losing a day of business," explains Gary Hulsey, manager at D & B Supply.

Along with the flooding on the ground, the heavy rain also caused numerous leaks in the roof, causing more repairs that were needed.

Hulsey says that he has only heard from other individuals on the impact the rain had.

For the most part, it was only minor flood damage across the board.
