CASA Sponsors The Super Hero Fun Run at C3

By Jeff Gomske

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Court Appointed Special Advocate leaders gathered at C3 Saturday morning for the Super Hero Fun Run.

Around 70 supporters showed up for the 5-k Run, many in costume.

CASA does many activities throughout the year and this time they decided to do something different.

Today marks the first ever Fun Run organized specifically to include entire families.

Anyone can be a CASA volunteer.

About 35% of the children in the program do not have a CASA volunteer.

One of the purposes of the Super Hero fun run was to show children that heroes really do exist.

According to CASA Executive Director Tahna Barton, "Every child needs a hero but an abused child especially needs a Super Hero, so we have people of all ages, families, businesses out here to get together and support our youth that are in Foster Care and need an extra advocacy help."

The goal is to make the fun run an annual event.

Based on Saturdays participation, that seems to be exactly what will happen next year.
