Caldwell Senator John McGee resigns today
BOISE, IDAHO (KMVT-TV) In a news conference this Afternoon, it was announced that Caldwell Senator John McGee would resign following allegations of Sexual mis-conduct. The four term senator from Caldwell submitted his letter to Governor Butch Otter. McGee had been the caucus chairman, the fourth ranking post in the Senate. The details of what happened were not disclosed in the official announcement. In May of last year, he was arrested and a month later he plead guilty to drunk driving in a deal that erased accompanying auto theft charges. He ended up serving jail time and paid restitution for damaging the vehicle. At the start of this year’s session, McGee apologized to his colleagues for his actions.
