South of Hansen, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) If you're looking for a place to spend the 4th of July holiday, the South Hills might be the destination.

"The creek is fun and we jumped off a tree over there, that was leaning down it's been fun," adds 10-year old Bradey Charters.

Charters is enjoying the perks of being a kid on the 4th of July.

"I like to camp and have fires, roast s'mores, roast hot dogs and stuff," exclaims the 10 year old.

Meanwhile, just down the road, the Melugin and Rice families left town for the seclusion of the hills.

Jace Melugin says, "we came up here to come up with family, relax, get away for awhile, come up camping."

They usually don't pick the holiday to come to the hills. But, Melugin finds there are incentives to this destination.

"A lot fishing and playing in the water...a lot of rainbow trout," adds Melugin.

Fire danger remains a concern on the Sawtooth National Forest.
