Candidate For Congress Makes A Stop In Twin Falls

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) On Thursday, a long–time Idahoan officially announced his candidacy for a seat in Congress for the upcoming 2014 election.

Republican Bryan Smith made stops in Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Idaho Falls this Thursday.

Smith made brief stops in all four cities to officially announce his candidacy for U.S. congress.

Smith, who was born in Boise, currently lives in the Idaho Falls area.

Smith will be running against long–time Congressman Mike Simpson for the Second Congressional District seat.

He was at the Twin Falls Regional Airport this afternoon and held quick press conference.

“I am not a politician… I haven’t been in Washington as part of the problem for the last 30 years… I grew up right here in Idaho and I know we can do better. I am a true conservative who will fight for us. That is why I’m running and that is why I’m asking for your vote… thank you.”

Officially, Thursday was the first day of Smith's congressional campaign.
