UPDATE: One Woman Is Dead Following Crash In Snake River Canyon
UPDATE: Jerome County, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A woman is dead following a crash in the Snake River Canyon.
Sheriff Doug McFall tells us 28–year Monica Luis Fisher has died after her car plunged over the Canyon Rim edge around 3:45 afternoon. McFall says she accelerated as she approached the edge. The incident happened a quarter of a mile east of the Perrine Bridge and is being investigated as a suicide. "It vaulted over the edge, colliding with lava rocks and out–croppings, came to a rest a couple of hundred yards from the water edge," adds Sheriff Doug McFall, Jerome County. Her body was recovered at seven Sunday evening. Jerome County, Twin Falls County and both of the counties' search and rescue units assisted with the recovery. Fisher is from California, but her family also has a home in Hailey.
