Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce is doing its part to boost the local economy.
Wednesday it held a cash mob event at Kings in Burley.
Cash mobs support local businesses by encouraging people to buy locally.
The mob of residents and members met at noon, each armed with twenty dollars of spending cash.
The purpose of the event is to get the Chamber involved in the local economy, especially small businesses.
"That's what the Chamber is all about is our local community, and we really want to create a vibrant thriving place which our people and our businesses can live work and do businesses," explains Kae Cameron, Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce.
And Wednesday was just the beginning.
The Chamber will host another cash mob event on July 1st at Nancy’s Floral in Rupert.
