Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Construction is well underway for an expansion project at a local hospital.

Cassia Regional Medical Center hopes to have external construction completed by early December.

Then crews begin the remodel of the 7,000 square feet between the emergency and imaging departments

"Our volumes have increased so this will provide additional patients treatment areas in our emergency dept, five patient treatment rooms, more importantly it will provide privacy, so as we care for patients it will provide for both the patient and their families, something that we have been lacking," explains Rod Barton, the administrator.

Another highlight is the installation of a Wide Bore MRI scanner, which looks to be done in January. The expansion is still on schedule for completion by late spring of 2014.
