Cassia Regional Medical's Junior Volunteer Of The Year
Burley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Camille Rasmussen has been volunteering at the Cassia Regional Hospital for the past four years. This year she is the junior volunteer of the year.
"Camille is one of those exceptional students that we have here. She's been a junior volunteer since the 9th grade and now she's a senior. She's been here all four years, dedicated to her shift every Friday Night from 4–7," said Geri Alejandro, Volunteer Coordinator at the Cassia Regional Medical Center. At Cassia Regional, Rasmussen helps in the gift shop and at the registration desk. "The main reason was just to be around people and to be able to talk and learn their different stories in life because there is always, someone always has a story here at the hospital. It could be good, it could be bad, but I just like listening and hearing what they have to say," said Rasmussen. Being awarded junior volunteer of the year also means Rasmussen receives a five hundred dollar scholarship. "I want to become a nurse because I like helping people and to watch them go from maybe not feeling so good to feeling good and to be a part of making them feel better," said Rasmussen. Rasmussen is helping people as a junior volunteer now, and hopefully continuing to help people as a nurse in the future. Comments ( |
