Stop Colon Cancer Before It Starts

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Colon cancer is the third most common kind of cancer in the United States. But if you catch it early, it can be treated very effectively.

150,000 people in the United States develop colon cancer every year, and a third of those die from the disease.

As is the case with many cancers, if you can catch them in the early stages, they're easily treated. Colon cancer can be especially aggressive.

If you're over age 50, doctors recommend that you get a colonoscopy. You can find out more about this procedure at a free workshop at St. Luke's Magic Valley.

Dr. Brian Berk will lead the discussion about colonoscopies. He'll show a video excerpt from a typical procedure. Don't miss a real life testimony from a surprise guest at the workshop.

That's at 6:00 p.m. March 28th in Qak Rooms 1, 5, and 6 at St. Luke's in Twin Falls.
