Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV This Thursday, 3.14 was the number of the day over at Xavier Charter School.

Over the past 3 years teachers, students and parents have set aside March 14th as Pi day at Xavier.

Students spent the day learning all about the Pi formula.

Earlier this week, students took part in a school wide challenge to see who could recite the entire infinite number formula.

And this afternoon the 3 top students took turns testing themselves on how far they could go in front of the entire student body.

“In our school we look for real academic things to be able to celebrate and to put focus on. So in mathematics this is our way we can do it. And of course today is March 14th and so “Pi” day is celebrated all over the world.”
Said Xavier Lead Teacher, Lisa Thompson.

Following the competition, student who bought tickets were able to celebrate “Pi” in another way.

Those who bought tickets were able to grab an actual pie and throw them at their favorite teachers.

All the money raised from the pie sales will go to a array of different things at the school.
