By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A Harrison Elementary School teacher received a grant to support a program she's started.

CenturyLink presented Jenni Jacobson with the $3500 grant for her "Writing To Learn" program. That will allow her students to use i-Pads to prepare for the upcoming "Common Core" standards.

Jacobson says, "Writing, that's a piece that we have not previously had a lot of time for, or done a lot with. So I want to start writing in kindergarten so that when we get to the upper grades, they already have that foundation."

The grant will pay for six i-Pads, six covers, and six "Easy Speak" microphones. The students will be able to take pictures and record videos, which can then also be shared with family and friends.
