Chamber Developing Legislative Priorities

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce is developing its 2013 legislative priorities.

Over the next month or so the community leaders will be reviewing various issues that will be topics during the next session.

Today, the city and county leaders discussed the potential reduction or repeal of the personal property tax, which impacts local units of government, such as cities, counties and school districts; those that collect their revenues from property taxes.

"We're really in education mode right now trying to learn what the potential impacts of this could be and to get a seat at the table to talk about how that may move through the legislative session,” said Shawn Barigar, Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce President.

The meetings are at the chamber of commerce every Friday at 7 a.m. and anyone is welcome.
