Changes Coming To Dierkes Lake?
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) This weekend marks the start of the official season for Shoshone Falls and Dierkes Lake.
Twin Falls Parks and Recreation has some ideas in mind for capital improvements this year. That includes interpretive signage to showcase history in the area.
Also, a future project is in store for Dierkes Lake.
"If you hike around Dierkes Lake, we have stairs, multiple stairs on the east side. Well they were built in 1995 and they were wooden. We have had some repairs, quite a few repairs on them. We have an engineering firm actually that will give me some cost estimates to replace those wood steps with metal steps," explains Dennis Bowyer, Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Director.
The stairs project won't happen this year, but it's possible you could see some changes by 2015.
An estimated cost for the project is $200,000.
