By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) House ware stores all over the nation are phasing out the traditional, incandescent light bulb.

The incandescent bulb has stopped being manufactured and customers are not taking a liking to the change.

But experts say the replacement LED lights are 85% more energy efficient and last longer than the traditional incandescent bulb.

The LED light lasts 23 thousand hours, that's six boxes of the traditional bulb.

Cecilia Daniel, the Home Depot store manager, says she's seeing the traditional light bulbs fly off the shelves in bulk.

"There have been customers that seem like really surprised by it even though it's been in the news for a couple of years that they were doing that , so we have had some people surprised that there actually going to finally phase them out."

Stores like Home Depot are expected to get more of the bulb in stock, but once the item is off the shelf, they're not receiving anymore.
