Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Walgreens Pharmacy on Washington Street North was the location of Child Safety Day on Saturday.
The purpose of the event is to provide parents with a free id with their child's physical details and picture to have in case their child is ever lost or missing.
Over 8,000 children go missing each year. Having updated and accurate information to provide to emergency personnel can make a big difference.
"Walgreens has a big push towards the community. We try to do as much as we can for the community. And this is a nice little outreach. We brings kids in. We give them an opportunity to show them the fancy equipment we have around," adds Gordon Fleming of Walgreens.
The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Department, BLM, Twin Falls Police Department and the Twin Falls Fire Department also participated in the Safety Day.
Smokey the Bear helped teach kids about wild fire safety.
