Christmas Eve At Sun Valley

By Brittany Cooper

Sun Valley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The community is gearing up for the Christmas Eve festivities.

The resort presents a free performance of Nutcracker on Ice along with the famous Dollar Mountain Torchlight Parade.

Resort spokesman Jack Sibbach tells us about what to expect.

"Well the holidays are an especially magical time at Sun Valley. We've been doing it now since 1937 and what we'll do is have free hot chocolate and cider and cookies for people starting at 4:30 at the Lodge Terrace. At 5:30 our Sun Valley carolers will be on ice and they'll be singing and about ten minutes later we'll have Nutcracker on ice. Then you're going to see 200 instructors coming down Dollar Mountain in the Torchlight Parade, it's an Austrian tradition. Again that started in 1937 and Sun Valley's continued it every year. And then you're going have fireworks and it's all a free event," says Sibbach.

Can't make it up there on christmas eve? Don't worry. You can see the village light display through the fourth with thousands of lights decorating the vallage.
