Cinco De Mayo Celebrated With Bowling
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) From festivals to fiestas, it's of course Cinco de Mayo. A day of celebration for people across the United States and parts of Mexico.
In Twin Falls, some locals celebrated the holiday with big hearts. Area bowlers made a $2,000 donation to the youth bowling league Sunday evening at the Bowladrome.
The Sunday Early Mixed is a bowling league of all ages and they scheduled their annual Fun Night Sunday. The occasion included a potluck of Mexican food, prizes and a drawing to get more money for the youth bowling league.
"It gives them a chance to compete in their tournaments which are usually out of town, some of the tournaments are out of state which we're hoping the donation will help them attend these other tournaments," adds Lin Gowan, league president.
The season is 33 weeks long and newcomers are welcomed to join.
