City Council To Decide On Park Names
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Two parks in Twin Falls may soon have new names.
The Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Commission would like to rename the park in the South Estates subdivision and the proposed dog park. The first park, the South Estates Park will possibly change to Blue Lakes Rotary Park. The Rotary Club has already raised close to $60,000 and plans to invest close to $150,000 by the project's completion. The Rotary Club also received help from the community. "This project could not have happened without the support of the community...and of course Glanbia Foods with their $40,000 grant. So it was about $40 thousand of their grant and about $20 thousand of our own fundraising to get this park together," said Donald Acheson, President, Blue Lakes Rotary Club. The committee would like the proposed dog park to be called Baxter's Park in memory of Dale Drown. The park names still have to be considered and approved by the Twin Falls City Council to be officially changed. Comments ( |
