City Of Jerome Looking For P&Z Manager

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - On the announcement from Zoe Monahan that she is resigning to take a position in Oregon, the city of Jerome has begun a search for a Planning and Zoning Manager. Monahan is currently the city’s community Development Director. She joined the city in August 2012. Her last day will be August 11, 2014.
The city said the P and Z manager will serve as the city’s P and Z Administrator and will also serve as the executive director for the Jerome Urban Renewal Agency. The City is seeking someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Business, Public Administration or a related field. A Master’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business or a closely related field is preferred but not required.
The incumbent should have experience conducting plan reviews, plat review and staff analysis of petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop and monitor policies, programs and projects throughout the community pertaining to community development. They should also have experience in performing, administering and assisting in economic development activities and working with City Urban Renewal Agencies. The individual should also have advanced knowledge of local government, and experience or knowledge of Idaho’s land use laws. Understanding of urban renewal laws and economic development tools are required. The salary range for the position will be $50,000 - $65,000 depending on qualifications.
