Ketchum, Idaho - ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Today was the final reading of the appropriations ordinance for the City of Ketchum’s 2014-2015 budget.

According to Ketchum’s mayor, Nina Jonas, this budget was focused on maintaining service levels for the city and citizens. Some things to note about the new budget? The City of Ketchum has $25,000 dollars from a franchise fee for Idaho Power that will go for an energy project. They were able to obtain funding to keep three additional fire fighters from the federal department for another year.

In the future, Mayor Jonas hopes to make the budget easier for the average citizen to understand.

“We have 23 self-balancing funds and in the future, I hope to kind of narrow that down, so it’s a little easier for the average citizen to read. Because right now it’s fairly complicated and you have to do some in depth analysis to truly understand the budget,” said Nina Jonas, Mayor of Ketchum.

The $14 million dollar budget is set to be adopted immediately.
