Cleaning Up Kimberly, One Load At A Time
Kimberly, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Saturday marked the community cleanup day in Kimberly.
More than 60 vehicles came through the city's maintenance yard.
A majority of the loads featured branches and other forms of yard debris, filling five dumpsters in total.
Organizers were pleased with the locals' efforts.
"The city of Kimberly needed a little bit of cleanup. There were quite a few properties that needed some attention," explains Mayra Valencia, Community Service Officer, City of Kimberly.
Melissa Williamson of City of Kimberly Public Works adds, "it helps people to get their yards cleaned up for spring and summer. They can bring in all their stuff, their yard debris and dump it here, rather than fill up their own trash cans and having to wait a week to dump their own personal trash."
Residents weren't allowed to dump tires, batteries, chemicals or refrigerators.
The city required a proof of residency and there was a two load limit.
