Clear Mailboxes Of Ice And Snow For Letter Carriers

By Brittany Cooper

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Winter is in full swing and that means slippery surfaces nearly everywhere you go.

The Post Office is asking you to help out your letter carriers by clearing a path around your mailbox.

Some letter carriers have hurt their knees or backs or suffered broken bones from falls on slippery surfaces.

They are instructed to refrain from delivering to locations they believe are too dangerous.

Customers are asked to clear six feet on both sides of the mailbox, clear walkways and steps.

Overhangs must also be clear and free of snow and ice to avoid injury.
