Commission To Create Guidelines For Historic Buildings

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) There are four historic districts in the city of Twin Falls.

Right now, business owners in only one of those districts have guidelines for dealing with historic buildings. The Twin Falls Historic Preservation Commission is hoping to fix that situation with their five year plan. So far, they've managed to get a grant for the first two years, and they've set a goal for the rest of their plan.

Commission Member Darrell Buffaloe says, "It's going to take time. It's going to be about a three year effort to do that. But we'll have plans so that people who want to preserve their properties and the historical character to Twin Falls will be able to do it under a set of guidelines. That's our goal."

Buffaloe says the guidelines will help Old Towne Twin Falls business owners understand how to take care of their buildings, and to keep their historical character.
