Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Twin Falls Youth Advisory Council is holding its Community Kite Days this weekend.

The event kicked off Saturday at the Sunway Soccer Complex.

There are lots of activities including contests for best kite, the biggest kite, youngest kite flyer and more.

Activities include free games, food, face painting and a bounce house.

The event is designed to celebrate one of the magic valley's biggest resources... wind.

"A lot of people here in Twin don't like the wind, but we wanted to show them it's fun. You can play with kites and do funs stuff with it and it's not all that bad," said Christina Bruce, Twin Falls Youth Advisory Council President.

Kite Days continues Sunday at the soccer complex located at 2700 East in Twin Falls.

It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you don't have a kite, vendors are on hand to help you out.

The council is hoping to make it an annual event.
