BURLEY, ID (KMVT) Work has finally begun on a walking path along the south side of the Snake River in Burley.

The first step is a boat ramp north of the west end of Bedke Boulevard.

Burley City Engineer Bryan Reiter says workers hope to complete the parking lot and boat ramp by this spring or early summer. He says grants from state funds are helping pay for the project.

Reiter says a park at that location will be developed in stages. He says the Oregon Trail Recreation District is helping pay for the walking path. Reiter says visitors will see a lot of changes by the middle of this summer.
