Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Wedding prices are on the rise, not only for brides and grooms, but also for guests.

This year, guests are expected to spend roughly $600 per wedding on gifts, clothing, and transportation.

This is a 75 percent jump in just two years.

Brides and grooms are also spending more per guest, with an average of 220 dollars.

The manager at Zurcher's Party Store, Amy Sullivan, explains she's been noticing a trend.

"When I had my wedding, it was small, but I wish I could do something bigger, but I think people I mean the girls always want their big fabulous wedding, so they're just going for it," she says.

Guests will spend an average of 109 on gifts this year, but it should be noted that more than half of newlyweds prefer cash presents.
