County Commissioners Discuss Personal Property Tax

By Andrew Reed

Paul, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Minidoka and Cassia County Commissioners held a district tax meeting today.

"I don't understand why they call it personal property; it's a business inventory tax. By eliminating it the county, cities, and taxing districts would lose $141 million dollars,” said Commissioner Bob Moore, Minidoka County.

Commissioners addressed concerns regarding the appeal of the personal property tax and what it means for citizens.

Commissioners say, Idahoans should contact their state legislatures if they have questions with the tax.
