Cowboys Rope Calves To Put Beef On Hungry Peoples' Plates
Gooding, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Tonight at the Gooding County Fairgrounds, cowboys put their calf roping skills to the test to raise money for hungry folks.
Caring Cowboys and Beef Counts Idaho teamed up to host an open calf roping event. Nationally known and local cowboys showed the grandstand audience exactly how it's done when it comes to calf roping. One Pocatello cowboy placed in last year's National Finals Rodeo.
Timi Lickley with Caring Cowboys, says, “We have Fred Whitfield, we have Cody Ohl, Tuf Cooper, Ryan Jarrett, Shane Hanchey, who’s up and coming, Matt Shiozawa, he’s from right here in Idaho. He won in the average at the NFR last year.”
The money raised will fight hunger and provide beef to those who get a helping hand from the Idaho Food Bank. If you’d like to find out more, visit beefcounts.org or search Facebook for the Caring Cowboys page.
