Day Of Remembrance For Executive Order 9066 To Be Held

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066.

That now infamous order authorized the forced removal and incarceration of all Japanese-Americans on the west coast of the United States.

With that order, thousands of Japanese-Americans made their way to southern Idaho... to the Minidoka internment camp.

This Wednesday marks the 72nd anniversary of this event.

That's why the College of Southern Idaho is holding a day of remembrance to highlight this part of American history.

The event will take place on the campus, inside the Evergreen Building in room C-74.

It starts at one in the afternoon and is open to the public.
