Declo Elementary Parents Want Answers

Declo, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Parents in the small community of Declo are still searching for answers.

In November a Declo Elementary School teacher used bullying as punishment when students didn't reach their goals.

The Cassia School District superintendent is still looking into this situation.

District officials are ensuring parents that action is being taken.

Parents are ready for the cassia school district to step forward and take action.

After an incident happened in the classroom of Summer Larsen's fourth grade class at Declo Elementary.

An investigation is underway through the states professional standards commission.

Investigators are compiling information from parents and staff members.

"There are some who have expressed concern and others that are very supportive about her being in the classroom and being an effective teacher for their students. We do take these things seriously and I apologize and regret if it appears we aren't doing anything, it's by law we aren't allowed to discuss personnel matters” said Superintendent Gaylen Smyer, Cassia School District.

Speaking with parents they have been contacted by the state and are now waiting for an interview to be conducted.
