Department Of Health And Welfare Raises Awareness About Mental Health

By Andrew Reed

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Department of Health and Welfare hosted a crisis intervention training with emergency first responders.

The focus of the training is to improve the way local law enforcement, community emergency services, and behavioral health professionals respond to people in mental health crisis.

"Mental health is something that affects everybody, if we're not struggling with a mental illness then we know someone who is. As a community we can respond to that mental illness more appropriately in a more healthy way and all of us are going to benefit” Val Seely, Adult Mental Health.

The training continues throughout the week, attendees will graduate on Friday.
