Gooding, Idaho (KMVT-TV) More details have been released about the last nights late night shooting in a Wendell neighborhood. Mark Perez is alleged to have shot Moses Joseph Jimenez twice in the stomach and once in the head with a 357 magnum revolver. Perez was charged with aggravated battery which carries a mandatory 5 year/$5,000 fine. But the judge issued an enhanced penalty because a high powered pistol was used which increases the mandatory sentence to 15 years in prison. His bond was set at $250,000.
Meanwhile Ricky Jimanez Jr. who is related to the victim, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon with no license, weapon in possession of a minor, underage consumption of alcohol and a weapon in connection to being concealed and under the influence. Authorities feared that Jimanez would harm Perez so Jimanez was booked in the Jerome County Jail and Perez placed in the Gooding County Jail. Both men were granted public defenders. A pre-trial hearing for Jimenez has been scheduled for October 1, 2012 and a jury trial October 11, 2012. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 16, 2012 for Perez. His bond was set at $250,000. Jimenez’s bond was set at $25,000.
