Dig Into Reading At Jerome Library

Tools

By Brittany Cooper

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Jerome Public Library traditionally comes up with creative activity ideas for the summer.

Right now they're celebrating the concept, Dig into Reading.

Representatives from Hagerman Fossil Beds were on hand today showcasing a display of fossils. It gave the children a hands–on look at what they might read in books.

Darbie Chocker, Jerome Public Library explains, "we want them to branch out with their education and learn about all kinds of things. We've learned about underground animals, we learned about dinosaurs. Next week we are going to learn about caves and rocks, everything about underground science, volcanoes, neat stuff like that. So just keeping it a variety."

Next Friday, the 18th, the library is holding a carnival day and everyone is invited to attend.

This marks the last day of the summer reading program.
