Disease Could Devastate Potato Crop
Twin Falls County, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A disease that could devastate the potato crop is infecting a Twin Falls County farm.
That's according to officials at the University of Idaho's Kimberly Research and Extension Center. Recent tests confirmed the crop was positive for the bacterium that causes Zebra Chip. The disease causes flecking in potatoes' skin and when they are fried the chip darkens. According to a report recently published by the Oregon State University Extension Service, the disease has the potential to be economically devastating. Comments ( |
