Dogs Missing Following Fourth Of July
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Fireworks entertain the masses, but they absolutely terrify pets.
According to Twin Falls Police, just on Friday they already received at least seven reports of dogs on the loose.
The Twin Falls Animal Shelter estimates about 90% of the dogs that arrived within the last week were firework–related.
"It seems like we were in really good shape with our numbers, moving animals and next I knew, within a three to four day period, we were filled to the brim so if could be as high as 40," explains Debbie Blackwood of the Twin Falls Animal Shelter.
If your dog is at the shelter, expect to pay a $10 impound fee. Plus, $7 a day for boarding.
If the dog isn't licensed, you'll also have to pay for a city license before the dog can leave the shelter.
