Donations Down For Relay For Life 2013

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Donations for Relay for Life of Twin Falls came in far short of last year's total.

After closing ceremony, Relay for Life officials estimated on Saturday they raised about $155,000, but in 2012, the Magic Valley brought in $221,000.

Organizers tell Idaho's First News that the weather played a factor this weekend and businesses haven't been able to donate as much as before.

Still, 252 survivors registered online which officials say is a great number.

"The Relay for Life we to accomplish a cure for cancer someday. We'll get there with the funds the Magic Valley raises," adds Jessica Laraway, Executive Team Lead.

Now this group is still hoping to hit that goal of $230,000.

They have until August to do so. If you would like to help, please visit
