Downed Power Line Closes Portion Of Orchard Drive West In Twin Falls
UPDATED INFORMATION: 4:50PM The Twin Falls Sheriff department say there were actually two accidents at the scene. The first accident occurred when a Green Chevy Beretta traveling westbound on Orchard struck a power pole. The vehicle came to a stop in the Eastbound lane. The driver and the passenger in the vehicle ran from the scene. Moments later a eastbound vehicle slowed due to the accident and was rear ended with another vehicle. There was minor damage to those two vehicles and no injuries were reported. The road remained blocked for about 3 and a half hours while crews made repairs to the power line. About 900 customers were without power for about 30 minutes, according to Idaho Power.
Police say that about 45 minutes after the accident, the Beretta was reported stolen. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
UPDATED INFORMATION 11:55 AM: An official with the Twin Falls County Sheriffs office has confirmed that some people fled the scene of this accident before officers arrived.
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A portion of Orchard Drive West is closed at this time due to a multiple vehicle accident that involved a power pole. The Twin Falls County sheriff’s department is investigating the accident that they say is a non-injury. A power line though, has fallen across the road, closing the 400 block of Orchard Drive West. Authorities ask that you avoid the area until Idaho Power crews are able to remove the line from the road. The accident was reported at about 11:04 am.
